Our Story
Jill grew up on a remote cattle station in Central Queensland, so life on the land has always felt like home. Dan shares that same love of cattle, farming and the outdoors, and when we purchased Forestvale Station in 2020, we knew we wanted to build something here that our family could be proud of.
In 2023, we made the move from the Northern Territory to Forestvale and began putting down roots — raising our family, growing our cattle operation and learning more about regenerative farming along the way.
As our approach to farming evolved, so did the way we thought about the food we were producing. We wanted to know exactly where our meat came from, how the animals had been raised and what went into producing the food we were putting on our own family’s table.
And we figured other families might want the same thing.
Today, we’re proud to offer grass-fed and finished beef and pasture-raised lamb directly from our farm to local families. By buying direct, you can know where your meat comes from, how it was raised and the family behind it.
For us, it’s about keeping things simple — healthy land, well-raised animals, quality local food and a stronger connection between the people who produce it and the people who enjoy it.
Hello, I’m Jill
Over the years, my career has taken me from the fast-paced world of corporate events to the heartwarming realm of community development and stakeholder engagement.
But eventually, my country roots came calling.
I grew up on a remote cattle station around 150km north of Clermont, and I’ve always loved the land, the lifestyle and, most importantly, the people who make rural communities so special.
These days, I look after the administration and behind-the-scenes running of Forestvale Station, while juggling life with two little ones and getting out in the paddock to muster cattle whenever I get the chance.
After a long journey to motherhood, I developed a much greater appreciation for wholesome, nourishing food and the importance of knowing where it comes from and how it has been raised.
I’m incredibly proud that we can now share our beef and lamb with our local community, giving other families the opportunity to enjoy quality, locally raised produce.
Hello, I’m Dan
I’ve been fortunate to work across Australia in a variety of land management roles and now get to live out my passion and drive the livestock operation and ecosystem management across our pastoral operations. The natural landscape is the most important thing to me and it’s a core belief that in order to have a healthy, productive cattle business, the biodiversity values need to be nourished as well.
The same could be said for life, hence the location of our farm has brought about the dream of ‘branding in the morning, surfing in the afternoon’ and we look forward to our growing family enjoying these balanced values.
